The manager was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt in dealing with my enquiry about domiciliary care for my elderly dad.

Her person-centred and intuitive approach to care planning meant that she was adept at identifying my dad’s care needs and negotiating these in a way that enabled him to be fully in control of his care plan.

Imaginative and flexible, nothing was ever too much trouble and the manager adapted to my dad’s varying needs on a daily basis. Never in a rush, she always did a thorough job and took the time to get to know and interact with my dad.

Although initially a reluctant care-receiver, my dad quickly came to highly value her service and see it as a way to remain independent and in control of his own life rather than as having to be reliant on someone else.

Her compassion, patience, sense of humour and attitude led to my dad looking forward to her visits and he would always refer to her as a ‘lovely girl’, which was high praise indeed from him!
